Michael Jackson’s Personal Belongings Raise Nearly $1 Million At Auction – Sound
An auction of Michael Jackson’s personal items has made nearly almost $1 million.
Contents of the Bell Air mansion, where Jackson spent his last days alive ahead of his planned comeback tour, went under the hammer on Saturday (December 17).
The singer died in 2009 in the $100,000 a month property which included hundreds of paintings and furniture.
Amongst the items was a blackboard scrawled with his daughter Paris’ handwriting: “I love daddy, smile it’s for free, love Paris,” fetched $5,000.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Michael Jackson’s death bed was pulled from auction at the request of the singer’s family.
The bed, where Jackson spent his final days, is part of the larger auction of items from the singer’s rented house.
Even though these weren’t items that belonged to him, they were items that surrounded him in the final months of his life. Anything associated with Michael Jackson is highly collectible,” said auctioneer Darren Julien.
