Katy Perry’s New Album Will Be All About Russell Brand

Because all of her songs are deep wells of emotion and introspect and in no way sound like a 7th grader with a Casio and a creative writing assignment, Katy Perry’s next album will be about her…

Hands All Over

Hands All Over

This complete edition now includes the studio version of the new SMASH single, “Moves Like Jagger,” featuring Christina Aguilera, as well as fan favorites “Never Gonna Leave This Bed” & “Out Of Goodbyes.” Maroon 5 is back with its third studio album entitled Hands All Over, produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange (AC/DC, Foreigner, The Cars). The album, a killer hybrid of rock, pop, funk, and R&B, showcases the band’s considerable strengths: buoyant, unforgettable melodies, sleek, stylish grooves, charged lyrics about turbulent relationships, and crisp, dynamic performances. Michael Jackson: ‘Immortal’ Video Details His New Album

Epic

Michael Jackson‘s music lives on well after his death and fans are having the opportunity to experience a new connection to his legacy with ‘Immortal,’ a posthumous release that features songs from the Cirque du Soleil show, Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. A new video explores what’s available on the LP, out now.

The soundtrack of tunes incorporates the King of Pop’s spoken word poetry as well as his famed tracks like ‘Beat It,’ ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ and ‘Smooth Criminal.’ The difference here is that his loyal supporters experience a new kind of sound with mashups of new and existing MJ efforts combined with production tweaks and creative mixes.

In the clip, Kevin Antunes, musical designer for the show, speaks on arranging Jackson’s various hits as well as added gems that he paid special attention to when re-imagining the new songs. “When he’s singing you can hear him stomping and I know from reading Bruce’s book [Bruce Swedien's book 'In the Studio with Michael Jackson'], they built this wooden platform for Michael to perform on… when he went into the studio,” the music vet shares while listening to a recording of MJ crooning through his 1988 hit ‘Man in the Mirror.’

“He wasn’t just coming to lay a vocal down. He would come and perform in the studio and you hear it. You hear it in the texture of his voice and he’d stomp and he’d have the headphones and you’d hear it all. And that stuff stayed on the records if you listen closely to the records, it’s there.”

Jamie King, the writer and director for Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, also drops some incite into how he was tapped for the project and what he hopes fans of the fallen superstar experience after listening to the ‘Immortal’ album.

American Gangster [Vinyl]

American Gangster [Vinyl]

Separate from the official motion picture soundtrack, this collection of all-new original material is a musical journey and lyrical interpretation of snapshots from the upcoming motion picture American Gangster. The conceptual, full body of genius work from the new album balances the line between pure entertainment and real life. JAY-Z draws upon past experiences, speaking to the harsh reality of the drug trade still taking place in our nation’s cities. While not glorifying the Frank Lucas story, JAY-Z articulates the lure of a gangster’s life and stands as an example of one who chose to leave those streets behind to go on and become one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time.
