REPORT: Is Alexis Bellino Quitting Real Housewives Of Orange County?
Alexis Bellino is everybody’s favorite ditzy, delusional, hypocritical Jesus Barbie and together with her husband Jim Bellino they have provided countless hours of amusement to us fans. Well, unfortunately, that may soon come to an end!
LA Late News is reporting that Jim and Alexis may be leaving Real Housewives of Orange County! Which would break my heart, I swear it! Jim has been repeatedly negative about the show: refusing to film, then refusing to appear with the other women on the show, then agreeing to film in diminished capacity while doing a weekly blog speaking out against the editing, the storylines, and the other Housewives.

Many, me included, have wondered why Jim – who according to Alexis is her king – would allow his wife to continue with a show he so despises. “Contractual obligations,” is the answer straight from the chin-plantees’ mouth! Jim told fans their reasons for remaining on the show are, “Number one, contractual obligations, and number two, somebody needs to keep it real.” Adding, that he is “deliberating” on whether or not to renew their contract. Or more likely, BRAVO is deliberating over whether or not to renew their contract!
Jim has repeatedly stated the show edits to create problems in their marriage for ratings and Alexis has defended this position. “My opinion is that they think a happy functioning family makes for boring TV,” Jim recently told fans.
While I do agree with that to a point, I think Bravo is mostly interested in casting characters to play a role. In my opinion, Alexis is cast as the ditzy but sweet blonde who is married to a jerk. Bravo crafted this storyline based upon what Jim and Alexis gave them to work with and based upon the viewers’ response.
I personally wonder if Jim is being preemptive? Usually when these “stars” start bemoaning about leaving the show or wanting to quit it’s because their contract is in jeopardy or because the network isn’t going to renew it! I admit, I love Alexis for comic relief and think her nuttiness makes good TV.
