Lindsay Lohan has received a glowing report about her progress in completing the requirements of her probation, weeks after she served a shortened jail sentence for violating it.

Last month, the 25-year-old actress was ordered to complete 12 days of community service and four psychotherapy sessions by her next hearing, which took place on Wednesday, December 14. The judge said that day that Lohan completed the required time at a morgue and had five counseling appointments. She has until late March to finish all of her hours.

“Miss Lohan, you have actually done work and done it not only on time but early,” the judge told the actress at a Los Angeles court. “You’re doing well and I’d like to see you continue.”

“I think she likes to come here and see me,” she added, jokingly. “I think that’s a motivation for her. Just kidding.”

Lohan has been on probation since she was convicted of drunken driving and cocaine possession in 2007. She has completed five stints in jail and was earlier this year ordered to complete 480 hours of community service at a women’s shelter and at a morgue as part of a sentence handed down for a misdemeanor theft charge, which had in itself constituted a violation of her probation.

A judge revoked the actress’ probation in October, stating that Lohan violated it by skipping her community service appointments at the women’s shelter, and sentenced her to 30 days in jail.

The actress checked into a Los Angeles jail on November 7 and spent less than five hours behind bars. A sheriff’s department spokesperson had said Lohan was expected to serve a shortened sentence because she is a nonviolent offender.

The judge had told Lohan she must serve the remainder of her hours at the morgue, adding that another women’s shelter refused to accept her services and said she was a “bad example” for its residents. She also ordered the actress to attend psychotherapy sessions and reinstated her’ probation. Lohan began her court-mandated community service at the morgue on October 21.

The judge said on Wednesday that Lohan must complete an additional 12 days of community service at the facility and undergo at least four more psychotherapy sessions by her next hearing, which was set for Jan. 17, 2012.

She has said that if Lohan fails to complete her probation requirements, she could serve an additional 270 days in jail. Her progress is set to be addressed in hearings that will take place up until late March of 2012.

“Do more days a month and then we could end this in February, possibly,” the judge said. “The morgue seems to be pleased. As pleased as a morgue can be.”

The judge also said Lohan was allowed to travel outside of California for work purposes or to spend holidays with her family if her probation officer allows it. She added that the actress can leave the state for any reason if she completes her probation requirements before her next hearing.

The judge also said she did not have a problem with Lohan’s recent trip to Hawaii. She had traveled there with her sister, Ali, and had $10,000 stolen from her purse during her trip.

Lohan’s acting career has stalled amid her turmoil. The former child star, who became even more famous with the 2004 movie “Mean Girls,” recently posed naked for Playboy magazine for the first time. She channels late Hollywood sex icon Marilyn Monroe in the photos, which have been leaked online.

She is featured on the cover of Playboy’s January 2012 issue and talked about her personal troubles in an interview with the magazine, saying: “During the past five years, I’ve learned that time flies faster than you think, and because you only live once you have to learn from your mistakes, live your dreams and be accountable.”
