I like the way that she covered this. I really dig the acoustic sound and I think that every once in a while she should release a song with this kind of acoustic style and jazzy kind of singing. She is still going to have pop songs on the top 100 for 10 weeks in a row, but it would be great to see something like this on the radio some time.

@holyriken I agree! – but with one important distinction: while the Nirvana unplugged covers were each great, the Bowie track must have been 20 years old, and being like 13yr old @ the time, I hadn’t even heard the Mud Puppies until Kurt Cobain told me they were cool. The popstar always is the easier target, especially when covering trendy songs that are still fresh in the memory. Wouldn’t it be even better to see MGMT cover a Katy song!! ala Travis doing Britney – now that could be a cover

I didn’t expect Katy Perry to actually be able to sing. I might like her songs if they kept her natural voice instead of autotuning her.
