Star Trek: Generations Review – Part 1

This is part one of my very in depth review of the movie Star Trek: Generations. After I saw this movie many years ago I didn’t like it. It wasn’t a TNG movie and it wasn’t a Star Trek movie. It was a sloppy mess of sell out schlock. It felt rushed and slapped together. A lot of parts didn’t make sense to me and it’s kept me awake many a nights thinking about it. Then recently I decided to make this. The funny thing is I could have gone into more detail getting specific about shot choices, lighting, the way the sound was recorded, etc but these are a lot of the major gripes mainly dealing with the plot and characters. If you want to watch the video in full and not in segments head over to myspace.com vids.myspace.com or search for “Star Trek Fail”

“and then they posed for a picture that nobody took” LOL
“no other ships in range” that frustrated me, too

  • DubbleM900 says:

@DrunkyMcLushLives Yeah, I didn’t catch on till later. This was actually the first thing I’d ever seen from him. But certainly not the last.

  • DrunkyMcLushLives says:

@DubbleM900 He knows it’s McDowell. He likes to fuck up people’s names in these reviews.

Like when he called Ewan McGregor Ewan McDonald and when he referred to William Shakespeare as William Shakesman.

I thought I was the only one who thought they fucked the fans over by changeing everything and the chip really pissed me off two. I was thinking wheres the little piechart chip thing? But that’s the problem with every trek film they threw out the deep well thought out stories to make room for all the cheap star wars wanna be scenes that were never in the next gen.

  • DubbleM900 says:

    *Ahem* Malcolm MCDOWELL.
    That is all.

  • kagetoh says:

    “Yep, I’m complainin’ about this.”

    Best line.

Out of all the reviews, the start of this one is the best. I think its a combination of the somber tragic introduction and the music.

Who’s to say that Picard didn’t chose the holographic borders of the pictures, or it has to do with the type of paper.

    new yuotube layout SUCKS

  • DBCOOPER888 says:

The thing about the uniforms…when the military switches over to a new uniform, people do indeed wear different types of uniforms. When the ACU came out in the Army a few years back, people still wore the old BDUs for the first year or so. So you’d have a mix of people wearing the old and new uniforms.

The best part of the movie was the enterprise – B

  • ianwr000 says:

@bigguyjames34 The guy doing these reviews purposely gets names wrong for ironic effect. He does the same thing in his other reviews. You’ll get into it as you go along. He’s putting on an act pretending to sound dumb and get names wrong etc. He’s very very smart.

  • bigguyjames34 says:

His name is Malcolm Mcdowell not Macdonald

  • CyckOne says:

And they asked Spock… but he said, uh, he said NO. Because the script sucked.”

  • ryebreadreturn1 says:

@haystacks He means the NextGen uniforms are not consistent with each other. In TNG the shirts had color at the bottom and were black on the shoulders. In DS9 they had color on the shoulders and were black at the bottom. In Generations though, they mixed the TNG and DS9 uniform types. Look at the clips where he talks about this again. The movie might have had some bs explanation for this, I can’t recall.
