I remember this guy from a few years ago. He was trying to pick up programmers off of sites like freelancer.com.

If he had put as much time and effort into learning to program as he did trying to find free programmers he probably could have finished this project already.

Can we get this guys and the Slap Chop/Shamwow guy in the same commercial? The combo inspiration and in-your-faceness would be unstoppable.

But seriously, I feel kind of bad for the guy. I can only imagine what will happen when he finally realizes he WON’T realize his dream.

His seemingly duplicitous and inept pitch is clearly embarrassing, but he has gone further with his idea than most capable people with legitimate ideas. That says something.

Well power to him for trying, but it sounds like he has had more than enough time to teach himself programing and make the site himself. So I call pipe dream.

maybe he should just focus on “THE BUTTON” and integrate it with facebook. that actually sounds like a cool idea.

Anyone remember Six Degrees social network?

It was based on the old adage that it only takes six steps of separation to link any two people in the world?

What happened to that? And more to the point of the post, when did that go live? (Also, when did it go offline?)

Sir, you are a relentless individual who fully believes that if you works hard enough, you will succeed. For in America, hard work guarantees you success.

I regret to inform you, however, that this is not the case. working hard on an absolutely horrible project will get you nowhere, unless you can entirely finance yourself. And even in that case, it will not get you far, only into bankruptcy.

Wait, scratch that. I do not regret to inform you of this. I hope that it will be drilled into your head until you give up and try, just try to do something productive in life.

@SeventhExile Speaks: There are actually a couple ways, without getting a patent first. The first is to have signed witness documentation of it, preferably a notary public.

The second way is to file what’s called a provisional patent. It’s the starting point that has to be updated within a year to a full patent, but for $85 it is a hell of a lot cheaper then going full patent right up front. It gets you on the books, and you get some time to raise capital.
