Oh, maybe Kirk has a ego the size of Ohio? Why say ‘James T Kirk of the Starship Enterprise’? Do you throw your middle name initial in? It is Kirk, he will win every pissing contest because his dick is at least 6″ longer than everyone else’s, and he knows it.
Think about it. When a cop pulls you over, do you say (pardon the example) “My name is James Tuberius Kirk!” or do you say your first, middle, and last name? Do you even say your name? THis could have been done a lot better!
Perhaps some people don’t know what the T stands for. A better way to solve this would be if…James Kirk was an interview with some admiral, and the admiral reads his name from a file? That would look more “in place”
@LivesForJihad Yeah, but what about the thousands of non trekkers who dont know who James T Kirk is, or casual trekkers who dont know what the ‘T’ stands for? This Trek is ment to bring more people into the series, not just the old fans.
great movie, perfect actors, awesome story, love that Leonard Nimoy who play the original Spock was in this movie . to bad the didn’t have William Shatner too
I love the casting in this movie, every actor brought out the essence of their characters without it seeming like an imitation of the previous actor’s portrayal of them.
Simon Pegg did a great job as Scotty, but I would’ve liked to have seen Paul McGillion (Carson Beckett from Stargate Atlantis) get that role..
@leebarrett62 Most definately. I would love to see the Amok Time episode done in part of the next movie. I believe that would be interesting to see how they adapted it. Or Kahn!
@RoseGirl1192 I think it would be awesome if Scotty would refit the new enterprise to look a bit more like the classic on the outside of the ship and have the next movie retell a classic episode with a new twist since there has been a timeline change they could completely retool the story.
@Zenutheduck not so much the interior of the ship but the exterior and the phaser, commicators and tricorders. They looked like toys to me. The least they could’ve done was to explain that Matt Jefferies was killed on the ship with Kirks father to explain why there was such a drastic change. If they would’ve done this is the world of Star Wars the fans would’ve killed the director!
I’m all for the updating of Trek but, they could’ve done a better job.

I think they were aiming for something that looked relevant today. Not that the execution was that great, but jelly bean buttons weren’t going to cut it.

At the beginning…that kid was stupid. He says his full name? We are not stupid…we know who Jim Kirk is.

I don’t deny that at all. What those three had was magic. It can NEVER be replicated. I just like the new chemistry for the new guys too.

that would work but, I was thinking about something they haven’t revisited before like Harry Mudd or the Corbomite maneuver.
